Role overview
A Geomatics Engineer is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and managing spatial and geographic data using advanced surveying, mapping, and positioning technologies. This role combines engineering principles with geospatial data systems such as GNSS, GIS, and remote sensing to support infrastructure, mapping, and location-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
· Use RTK receivers and UAV drone to conduct professional surveying and mapping tasks and prepare technical reports.
· Collect, process, and analyze spatial data for mapping and engineering applications
· Develop and maintain geospatial databases and digital maps using GIS tools
· Perform coordinate transformations, georeferencing, and spatial data validation
· Support high-precision positioning workflows, including GNSS/RTK data collection, correction setup, accuracy validation, and troubleshooting.
· Collaborate with engineering, product, and operations teams to integrate geospatial data into projects
· Interpret satellite imagery, aerial photography, and remote sensing data
· Prepare technical reports, maps, and visualizations for internal and client use
· Ensure compliance with surveying standards, safety regulations, and data accuracy requirements
· Troubleshoot GNSS/RTK field equipment, signal issues, correction connectivity, data collection errors, and positioning inaccuracies.
· Work with RTK-enabled surveying applications and field software for mapping, data collection, and validation
Required Qualifications
· Master degree in Geomatics Engineering, Geospatial Engineering, Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
· Strong understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and geodesy
· Hands-on experience with GNSS systems, including RTK and/or PPK positioning, base/rover setup, and correction workflows (e.g., NTRIP, CORS)
· Experience with GNSS surveying apps and software
· Experience with UAV Drone mapping software with LiDAR, images and workflows
· Knowledge of mapping, spatial data analysis, and data management
· Ability to work with field equipment and technical tools
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
• Exposure to GNSS signal processing or positioning algorithms
• Exposure to SLAM algorithms
• Programming or scripting skills (Python, MATLAB, or similar)
• Experience working with large geospatial datasets, point clouds and images
