Your Role
We are hiring an experienced Project Manager, Capital Projects to join our team! This role is responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of facility-related construction initiatives, including laboratory, office, and support space improvements. This role ensures projects are delivered efficiently, within budget, and in alignment with applicable regulatory and operational standards. The position works closely with internal teams and external partners to translate facility requirements into functional, compliant environments, particularly within a regulated life sciences setting.
- Lead full lifecycle execution of facility construction and improvement projects, including laboratory builds, office renovations, and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, and budgets while proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies
- Manage multiple concurrent capital projects and facilitate key meetings such as kickoffs, design reviews, and progress updates, tracking deliverables and action items
- Oversee vendor and contractor activities, including bid processes, contract management, site inspections, and performance monitoring to ensure safety, quality, and compliance
- Review and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and invoices, while coordinating equipment procurement and delivery with internal teams and suppliers
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (operations, IT, EH&S, and business leaders) to define project requirements and ensure solutions meet operational and regulatory needs
- Provide consistent project updates to leadership through status reports, financial summaries, and presentations, while supporting capital planning and budget forecasting efforts
- Manage project financials, including cost tracking, forecasting, invoice processing, and budget-to-actual analysis, while ensuring proper documentation and approval of scope changes
- Ensure construction activities comply with safety standards, permitting requirements, and regulatory guidelines, particularly within or adjacent to GMP-regulated environments
- Partner with Engineering, Validation, and EH&S teams when projects impact regulated systems or spaces, and maintain complete project records including contracts, permits, drawings, and closeout documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industries.
- Familiarity with GMP-regulated environments, laboratory facilities, or cleanroom operations.
- 7-10 years of project management experience in construction, commercial real estate, or tenant improvement environments.
- Proven experience leading complex capital projects, including budget and schedule ownership.
- Background managing contractors, reviewing technical documentation, and negotiating change orders.
- Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, budgeting, and cost tracking.
- Proficiency with project management tools used in construction environments (e.g., Trimble or similar platforms).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior leadership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.

Adhering to the requirements of California's law on salary transparency, the salary bracket for this role is set between $170,000 - $195,000 annually. The salary offered may be adjusted based on various factors such as the applicant's qualifications, skills, and professional experience.
