Role Description: the Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities in the irrigation water management industry across the United States. This position requires strong technical knowledge of the irrigation industry and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the decision-making process, from regulatory bodies and engineering firms to end users and operations teams. The role focuses on generating qualified opportunities, influencing specifications early in the project lifecycle, and supporting demand generation.
Responsibilities:
1) Identify and develop new opportunities for BERMAD USA products in irrigation water management projects across the United States.
2) Work with key stakeholders throughout the decision-making process, including regulators, engineering firms, consultants, and irrigation operations teams.
3) Support early engagement in project planning and specifications.
4) Stay aligned with broader BERMAD initiatives related to product growth and development.
5) Work closely with the sales team:
- Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and support project execution.
- Coordinate and maintain communication with dealers and partners.
- Support customer presentations, project positioning, and technical engagement.
- Track opportunities to support progress throughout the sales cycle.
6) Travel as needed to build relationships with key stakeholders.
7) Conduct presentations showcasing BERMAD USA capabilities and solutions.
8) Manage and improve lead generation and follow-up processes (HubSpot).
9) Monitor market activity, including pricing, products, and competitor positioning.
10) Propose marketing activities to support market penetration.
11) Identify market needs and contribute to solution and product development.
Qualifications: Proven experience in technical sales within the irrigation market; familiarity with control systems and flow meters. Ability to work independently and travel as needed. Strong communication skills with stakeholders at all levels, from field operators to engineers. Professional presentation and training capabilities. High integrity, self-motivation, and results driven.
Preferred Education and Experienc, Preferred (not required): Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Irrigation, Water Engineering, Soil and Water Sciences, or a related field.
