Estimating & Preconstruction Manager and play a critical role in transforming project concepts into successful construction outcomes. In this position, you will lead estimating and preconstruction efforts from conceptual budgeting through subcontractor buyout, partnering closely with clients, designers, project managers, and trade partners to develop accurate estimates, evaluate project risks, and create value driven solutions. You will guide cost modeling, constructability reviews, procurement strategies, and bidding activities while helping project teams make informed decisions that support budget, schedule, and quality objectives. This is an opportunity to directly influence project success while building strong relationships with both internal and external partners throughout the preconstruction process.
This role is ideal for a collaborative construction professional who thrives in a Lean environment and enjoys developing people, processes, and projects. You will champion design to budget approaches, Target Value Design, model based estimating, and continuous improvement initiatives that help deliver exceptional value for clients. Working alongside project and design teams, you will identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and explore innovative solutions that align project goals with budget expectations. In addition to leading estimating and procurement efforts, you will coach and mentor estimating and preconstruction staff while helping advance best practices across the organization. At Boldt, you will do more than prepare estimates. You will help shape successful projects from the earliest stages of planning through project execution.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $133,000.00–$177,000.00 annually. This information reflects the anticipated base salary for this position based on current market data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual’s skills, experiences, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.

What You Bring
- Four-year architecture, engineering, construction management or related degree required.
- 8-10 years of construction, structural engineering, architecture, and/or estimating experience or a combination of these experiences required.
- Experience in Guarantee Maximum Price (GMP) as well as Lump Sum (Hard) Bid type of projects required.
- Understanding and proficiency of construction coding in CSI, Master Format and Uniformat required.
- A strong understanding of excel spreadsheets, database-based software (WinEst), take-off software (On-Screen take-off) scheduling software (Microsoft Schedule, Primavera) is required.
- Intermediate experience in Microsoft O365 required.
- A valid driver’s license may be required. Individuals in this role may be subject to an annual Motor Vehicle Records check. The outcome of any MVR checks conducted may negatively impact the persons’ ability to participate in any vehicle program provided by the company, including but not limited to the ability to drive a personal vehicle on behalf of The Boldt Company or rent a vehicle through for business travel purposes.
Nice to Have
- Experience developing business in healthcare or other highly regulated markets.
- Familiarity with healthcare systems and regulatory environments such as HCAI.
