Our Division
Satellite navigation has evolved from GPS to what is now called GNSS—the Global Navigation Satellite System, comprising GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, NavIC, and other emerging systems. The GNSS and Comms Engineering group develops Trimble’s high-precision GNSS receivers for a wide range of markets, including rugged Agriculture and Construction products used on tractors and bulldozers, Geospatial receivers used by surveyors, and modules sold to integrators.
The Manufacturing Test Development Group creates the test software and integrates the test systems used worldwide to test each high-precision GNSS receiver we build during several steps of production at Trimble’s contract manufacturing test sites. In addition to providing precise positioning, these GNSS receivers offer many services through serial, USB, and Ethernet ports, while also supporting Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity. Many of our products further support the transfer of positioning information through UHF radio and cellular networks. All of these systems must be tested to ensure that new product design specifications are met and that quality products are shipped to our customers.
