Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of HSE, the Area HSE Lead is responsible for facilitating the overall safety and health of project personnel in compliance with company and client safety policies and programs.

Education:
- Degree or equivalent certification in occupational health or safety preferred but years of safety related experience are also of value to us.
- OSHA 30hr-Construction required
Experience:
- OSHA compliance is the minimum standard. The position requires considerable experience with, and knowledge of, state and federal standards, but also practical experience relating this information to team members to ensure they make informed decisions.
- Experience producing multiple project submittals, monitoring HSE compliance/needs for multiple project sites, tracking/organizing/reporting on multiple metrics, dealing with regulatory bodies and educating clients.

Responsibilities:
- Oversee project safety staff to ensure adherence to safety policy and standards.
- Contribute to and implement safety policy and programs on all project sites and jobsites.
- Maintain regional driver and fleet lists in support of the DOT program.
- Perform audits, assessments, and inspections to verify internal controls and programs are adhered to and effective.
- Oversight of safety planning and implementation of safety plans for area projects, shops, and yards.
- Attends and contributes to area bid and operational planning meetings.
- Conduct site safety visits and performs assessments and inspections.
- Maintain area/project metrics and addresses priority problems.
- Conduct area training, facilitate safety committee meetings, lead incident reviews, and implement corrective actions.
- Attend client meetings and engages with clients to make recommendations on safety improvements and planning.
- Act as direct liaison between field crews and area/regional management for safety needs, concerns, and issues.
- Engage in “cold eye” reviews as assigned by regional HSE manager.
- Stop unsafe actions and/or work until appropriately mitigated.
Physical Demands Working Environment:
- Working outdoors in various temperatures and conditions
- Wears various PPE (respirators, fall protection, etc.)
- Will travel on various land, water, and aircraft.
- Will sit and stand for several hours at a time.
- Lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, squatting for various periods of time

Salary Range:
- Pay is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
