Base: $120k-$170K
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide overall management direction for a field project or two or more smaller projects and estimate multiple jobs.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
- Plan, organize and staff key field positions through regional department heads.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client and A/E contacts, to facilitate construction activities.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent company in project meetings, assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings, etc.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts (fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc.) to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with Client.
- Assume additional responsibilities as directed by corporate executives.
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience( approx 10+ years) delivering cost estimates for large rail projects or capital works programs ($5 million plus).
Key responsibilities will include:
· Preparing, submitting and managing key rail and /or Infrastructure project estimates for
new build and maintenance including earthworks, track, signaling, electrical, overpasses,
bridge work, tunnels, stations etc
· Providing technical input to ensure estimates are both accurate and timely
· Liaising with commercial team members and key stakeholders and ensure that you
continue to add value/adjust internal system
· Lead the estimating team and provide effective people management
To be considered for this role you will have:
· Previous exposure to large rail or heavy industry project estimation with a leading
contractor essential
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE:
Educational and experience requirements include: Extensive and verifiable (ten or more years as a
Project Manager or Estimator) experience/knowledge of civil and transit construction, design, finance, and management required. Must be able to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize employee performance. Thorough understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards, etc. and their impact on project activities. Superior communication and interpersonal (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.) skills essential. Must be a business oriented person.
