About the Role:
Estimator - specialized in Process Piping
Location - Fountain Valley and / or Oceanside, CA
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all phases of the estimating and bidding processes, including conducting on-screen takeoffs for various large and intricate projects.
- Participate in project bid meetings and site visits.
- Compile bid proposal documents, which may include a proposal letter, customer-specific bid forms, and necessary bid bonds.
- Review the scope of new project contracts.
- Price any change bulletins issued for ongoing projects as required.
- Collaborate with the HVAC team on combined projects and pursuits as needed.
- Assist in developing project cost budgets and a Schedule of Values for new project kick-offs.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Required Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in process and piping estimation is preferred.
- Proficient in preparing Design-Build, Design-Assist, and Plans & Specs estimates, as well as conceptual budgets.
- Knowledgeable in various estimating software and on-screen programs, with a preference for Trimble AutoBid.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience in performing process and piping take-offs across different industrial buildings, particularly Biomedical Facilities and Laboratories.
- Ability to work independently, effectively prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
- Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and creative thinking skills for value engineering.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable interacting with professionals at all levels, both internally and externally.
