ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN / HR SPECIALIST
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Under general direction coordinate and manages the operation of accounts payable / receivable, credit card reconciliation, payroll, cash deposits, human resources policies, including recruitment, compensation, employer-employee relations, benefits administration, and customer service. The Accounting Technician/ HR Specialist will receive general direction from the Executive Director.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES (Illustrative Only):
Management reserves the rights to add, modify, change, or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.
· Process accounts payable transactions, including invoices, purchase orders, and expense reimbursements.
· Prepare invoices, receive customer payments and communicate with vendors and internal departments regarding payment status and issues.
· Reconciling credit card accounts.
· Prepare weekly cash / check deposits.
· Researching and resolving vendor issues.
· Establish and maintain a variety of filing, record-keeping, and tracking systems.
· Enter and retrieve data from a computer with sufficient speed and accuracy.
· Responsible for all recruitment and onboarding of employees.
· Administering and directing benefits programs including but not limited to health, dental, life, vision, and retirement.
· Assisting employees and management with Human Resource issues.
· Maintaining employee files and records.
· Process background checks for new hires and volunteers.
· Updates employee handbook, policies, and training materials as needed.
· Oversee and manage workers compensation claims.
· Maintain current working knowledge of compliance and regulatory concerns, industry trends and best HR practices.
· Communicating with other employees, supervisors, director, outside vendors, public, etc.
· Responding to inquiries from employees, supervisors.
· Other tasks as needed

· Composing routine correspondence;

· Researching and extracting data and other information;
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
· High School Diploma or GED
· Able to work independently and as part of a team
· Must be able to commute to the job.
· Must be eligible to work in the United States.
· (1) one year of AR/AP or Human Resources
PREFERED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES
· Knowledge of QuickBooks software
· Standard office practices, procedures and accounts payable / receivable practices
· Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
· Ability to establish and maintain positive and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work at all levels, including a culturally diverse general public, with a focus on quality service to internal and external customers
· Ability to make accurate arithmetic calculations
· Ability to research, analyze and interpret policies, regulatory guidelines and precedents
· Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in preparing statistical reports and data, using a computer key board. Additionally, the position requires near vision in reading correspondence, statistical data, and using a computer, and hearing is required when providing phone and visitor service. The need to lift, drag, and push files, computer reports, and other materials weighing up to 35 pounds also is required

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
