Laborer Job Responsibilities:
- Performs various physical duties as assigned.
- Maintain all safety standards.
- Moves secure, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
- Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the-job training.
- Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the Jobsite/assignment.
- Moves items from place to place, according to directions from the site supervisor.
- Moving tools, equipment, or other material as directed in plans or by the supervisor.
- Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
- Loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
- Digging trenches, compacting earth, and backfilling holes.
- Laying concrete.
- Operating and tending machinery and heavy equipment.
- Following instructions from supervisors and implementing construction plans.
- Assisting skilled tradespeople in their duties.

Laborer Qualifications/Skills:
- Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
- Attentive to detail and alert at all times to ensure safety.
- Able to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
- Managed concrete formwork, layout, and finished concrete.
- Assist with project pursuits and evaluation of structural concrete scope assuring appropriate manpower, formwork, and sequencing.
- Concrete is poured into some type of formwork, such as temporary steel or wooden mold.
- Directed concrete truck drivers around the job site, dismantled and removed formwork from set concrete.
- Blueprint reading, formwork, placing/finishing of concrete, and safety.
- Must pass drug and background checks.
Tools Required:
- List of standard tools you should have when arriving to work for MarCon Engineering Inc..
- Set of tool bags
- Hammer (preferably a 16. oz wood handle) for general use or a steel handle for demo (also 16. oz)
- Pair of lineman’s pliers
- Cat’s paw nail puller
- Tape measure
- A couple of carpenters' pencils
- 10” adjustable wrench (crescent)
- Screwdriver (preferably one with a #1 and #2 Philips and a 3/16” and 9/32” flat)
- Pair of comfortable safety-toed work boots
- Pair of gloves.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- A high school diploma preferred.
- Ability to safely operate various vehicles and equipment.
- Previous experience, especially in a particular industry.
- Operators with operators’ card.
- Apprentice certification, or to be enrolled in an apprenticeship program.
