Job Title: Commercial HVAC Estimator/Sales Executive

Job Overview
We seek an experienced Commercial HVAC Estimator/Sales Executive to spearhead sales and estimating efforts in San Diego, CA. This role is integral to capturing a thriving market with project scopes ranging from $5 million to $25 million. With a focus on maintenance agreements and large equipment projects, this position is ideal for a professional with a technical background in large-scale HVAC systems, such as Trane chillers, and a proven track record of successfully bringing in business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to secure projects and maintenance contracts in the San Diego territory in the $5M—$25M range.
- Prepare accurate and competitive bids using advanced estimating software, including Bluebeam, Trimble AutoBid, and Autodesk Revit, ensuring alignment with client needs and budgetary constraints.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, utilizing technical HVAC knowledge to consult on system solutions, especially for chillers, boilers, and other large-scale equipment.
- Bring hands-on experience with large commercial equipment, such as Trane chillers, to the sales process, ensuring credibility and trust in client engagements.
- Act as a proactive leader in expanding the company’s presence, particularly in maintenance services and larger project scopes, while leveraging a strong work ethic and initiative to seek out and secure new opportunities.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or construction management is required.
- Minimum of 5 years in commercial HVAC sales and estimating, with hands-on experience in large equipment service or installation (e.g., chillers, boilers, and piping systems).
- Proficiency with software such as Bluebeam, Trimble AutoBid, Autodesk Revit, and Navisworks is a plus. Familiarity with building automation systems (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Johnson Controls Metasys, Schneider Electric, etc.) is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to generate and close sales in the $5M–$25M range, with a history of building long-term client relationships.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to take the initiative and deliver results.
- A history of stable and consistent work in the San Diego region, with a deep understanding of the local market.
