Construction Field Superintendent – Responsible for the supervision and management of all aspects of assigned projects from mobilization through punch list and demobilization, including client relations and cost control of general conditions.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5-10 years construction experience working as a Field Superintendent preferred.
- Multifamily/ Residential Superintendent experience a plus
- Knowledgeable in general building and site/civil construction
- Knowledge of reading project plans and specifications
- Manages difficult customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, responds to requests for service and assistance, and meets commitments
- Experience working on construction projects with available references.
- Current First Aid/CPR (Will provide for right candidate)
- OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 certification a plus (Will provide for right candidate)
- Military background is a plus
- Intermediate to Advanced level in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Beginning level in ProCore
- Experience managing schedules and working with Microsoft Project
- Experience in BIM, LEAN, and LEED practices in a plus
- Leadership and motivational skills
- Able to travel throughout construction sites during all phases of a project and able to travel to jobsites which may be remote
- Available to work when necessary to accommodate project schedules, weather conditions or urgent circumstances
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
General:
- Ensures that all construction work performed is of the highest quality
- Assists Project Managers in formulating construction schedule and maintaining construction schedule throughout the project from start to finish
- Supervises employees, subcontractors and vendors to ensure both quality control and project compliance
- Schedules and directs all inspections with city officials, government agencies and private agencies as required
- Schedules all trades and material deliveries daily
- Resolves problems as they arise regarding plans or specifications, conflicts with the architect, engineer, clients and subcontractors and documentation of all corrections, changes and requests
- Assists Project Manager with bidding, subcontract scope of work, pricing of owner and subcontractor change orders and verification of costs
- Produces and submits the following documents accurately as per the designated timeframe:
- As Builts – Records updates weekly
- RFI’s & RFI Logs
- Daily Reports – Submitted into Procore on a daily basis.
- Incident Reports – Completed and submitted to Safety Manager within 24 hours of injury
- Safety Meeting Forms – Completed and submitted to Safety Manager each Monday
- Jobsite Photographs (following Construction Photos policy) – Minimum three photos per day to be taken. Weekly photos submitted each Monday to Field Coordinator and Strategic Planning Team
- Rolling Schedule – Detailed three-week schedule showing all working areas of the jobsite and all trades involved
- Ensures that subcontractors are providing own clean up and debris boxes
- Attends regularly scheduled safety training and procedure (Field Team Meeting) meetings
- Performs safety management responsibilities, orientations, quarterly meetings, OSHA Standards, Tanco Safety Program Components and Tanco clients and insurance carriers. This includes planning, communication, monitoring, enforcement and documentation
- Maintains and posts OSHA and Company required safety literature
- Documents and completes all punch list items in a timely manner
- Attends job start up and close out meetings
- Assists OSHA inspectors as per Tanco’s OSHA Inspection policy
- Maintains Systems and Procedures manual
- Complies with Tanco Hazardous Materials procedures
- Manages incidents and crisis as per the Tanco Crisis and Incident Management procedures
- Follows Emergency Action Plan procedures
- Prepares adequately, as per the Safety and Insurance Procedures, for Cranes and Helicopters onsite
- Checks email at least four times per day and responds to email within 24 hours
- Tracks, maintains and secures company owned tools, and rental equipment at all times
- Completes Insurance Coordinator’s Sub on the Job Report and returns no later than each Monday
- Conducts weekly onsite foremen meetings
- Maintains all general condition costs
- Orders all onsite material as required
- Provides written backup to all subcontractors in regards to any damages, back charges, etc.
