Job Overview
We are a busy, growing handyman, maintenance and remodeling business serving the High Desert area of Southern California. We are currently looking to hire a reliable and skilled Handyman Assistant to help with a variety of repair, maintenance, and remodeling projects. This is a 1099 independent contractor position, ideal for someone with hands-on experience in general construction and maintenance work.
Duties
Responsibilities:
- Assist with residential and commercial repair and maintenance tasks
- Perform basic carpentry, drywall, painting, demolition and general handyman services
- Support remodeling projects such as kitchen and bathroom updates
- Safely operate tools and equipment to complete jobs efficiently and professionally
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Communicate clearly with clients and team members when needed
- Be dependable and punctual for scheduled jobs
- Perform general labor tasks including loading and unloading materials, moving supplies, and assisting with equipment setup.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks and hazards on the job site.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a labor or construction role, minimum 3 years.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to following safety standards.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
**Having own tools and own vehicle is Preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $16.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
