Overview
Bob’s Septic Service is looking for a motivated Construction Laborer to join our sanitation system construction team. This role focuses on septic system installations, sewer line work, drainage improvements, and other underground utility projects. If you enjoy hands-on work, learning new skills, and being part of a team that builds essential infrastructure for homes in the San Diego communities, this is a great opportunity.
Responsibilities
- Prepare job sites by clearing debris, marking layouts, and setting safety barriers.
- Assist with installing septic tanks, leach lines, sewer pipes, and drainage systems.
- Help load/unload tools, pipe materials, equipment, and supplies.
- Support equipment operators during trenching and excavation.
- Safely operate hand tools and basic equipment under supervision.
- Dig trenches, grade surfaces, backfill, and compact soil.
- Maintain clean work areas and properly handle sanitation-related materials.
- Follow all OSHA and jobsite safety procedures.
- Report hazards and assist with site inspections.
- Perform additional tasks to keep projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and willingness to learn.
- Commitment to safe work practices around trenches and equipment.
- Basic construction or utility knowledge is helpful but not required—training provided.
- Reliable, punctual, and strong work ethic.
- Preferred: experience in septic/utility work or OSHA safety training.
