About the Role
OptiMinds is seeking an experienced Project Engineer III to support large-scale construction programs through technical, administrative, and contract management functions. This role plays a key part in supporting the Program Management Office (PMO) by coordinating change management, reviewing construction documentation, and ensuring timely processing of project controls across multiple active projects.
You will work closely with project managers, field teams, and consultants to help keep projects aligned with scope, schedule, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical and administrative support to the PMO Construction team.
- Review and process Change Orders (CO), Field Orders (FO), and contractual documents for active construction projects.
- Coordinate with project teams on change management reviews and approvals.
- Perform detailed reviews of CO documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Participate in coordination meetings to facilitate timely workflows.
- Maintain Change Order logs, trackers, and project documentation.
- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Track revisions and ensure timely processing of change documents.
- Support resolution of conflicts and issues impacting project delivery.
- Generate and distribute meeting minutes and status updates.
- Maintain organized electronic files and records.
- Capture lessons learned and support project closeout activities.
- Prepare periodic task and status reports for management.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in construction project engineering or a similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (experience may substitute for education).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and SharePoint.
- Experience with Bluebeam and Adobe for document reviews and markups.
- Strong ability to read construction drawings and technical documents.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing Change Orders and supporting documentation.
- Experience on large capital or educational facility projects.
- Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously.
- Familiarity with PMIS systems such as Prolog, Proliance, Trimble Unity Construct (e-Builder) or similar.
- Experience with Adobe Acrobat Sign.
- Experience preparing management reports and project dashboards.
