Description
Qcells is a vertically integrated clean energy company spanning solar panel and BESS manufacturing, installation, financing (Loan & TPO), and downstream services under EnFin. EnFin delivers solar + storage solutions through optimized ownership models and streamlined installation experiences. The BESS & Inverter Manager serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for all BESS and inverter technologies on the EnFin Approved Vendor List (AVL). This role evaluates products, supports pilot installs, provides internal and external training, and ensures seamless integration of BESS and inverter solutions across EnFin and Qcells product lines. The SME collaborates with engineering, quality, procurement, field operations, and customer support to ensure product selection meets technical, operational, and financial requirements. This role also supports vendor evaluation, RFP participation, and product roadmap alignment with in-house hardware teams.
This position is based in San Francisco; remote work may be considered for exceptional candidates. Ability to travel up to 25%.
Vendor Strategy & Qualification
- Develop and maintain BESS/inverter vendor qualification criteria and manage the OEM evaluation and onboarding process.
- Monitor product quality, warranty performance, delivery reliability, and escalate issues as needed.
- Maintain accurate equipment records in Salesforce and related platforms; update or delist equipment as required.
- Participate in RFPs, vendor negotiations, and AVL reviews.
Cross-Functional Operationalization
- Collaborate across engineering, quality, procurement, field ops, and customer support to operationalize vendor standards.
- Support SOP development, change management, training, and documentation.
- Ensure AVL alignment with EnFin offerings and downstream workflows.
Product Integration & Internal Hardware Alignment
- Provide feedback to internal hardware and R&D teams based on field performance, customer insights, and market trends.
- Support cross-functional projects that align product roadmap, operational readiness, and customer value.
- Help create technical briefs, integration diagrams, and product compatibility matrices.
Technical Support & Training
- Attend pilot installations and provide onsite/remote support for product evaluation.
- Support O&M teams through escalations and site evaluations.
- Deliver training to internal teams and external partners on BESS/inverter technologies, troubleshooting, and best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date technical knowledge, including code updates, standards, and new product releases.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field; or equivalent experience/licensing (e.g., journeyman/Master electrician) with 8+ years of professional work experience including 5+ years relevant work experience to this role and 2+ years in solar.
- Strong communication and professional presence.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and deliver results under tight timelines.
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with UL, NEC, IEEE, and interconnection standards.
- NABCEP certification.
- Hands-on BESS/inverter installation or troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of PV module behavior for AVL compatibility.
- Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office, or workflow tools (e.g., Airtable).
- Familiarity with AI-assisted content review.
- Interest in scalable clean energy solutions and solar business operations.

The salary range is required by the California Pay Transparency Act and may differ depending on the location of those candidates hired nationwide.
