We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. This pivotal role offers an exciting opportunity to lead financial operations, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of corporate accounting functions, including general ledger reconciliation, journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and month-end closing processes
- Ensure compliance with GAAP requirements, and other regulatory standards relevant to accounting
- Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support organizational decision-making
- Lead the reconciliation of balance sheets, bank accounts, and account analysis to maintain accurate financial records
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity across accounting software platforms: Yardi and Trimble
- Mentor and develop junior accounting staff by providing guidance on technical accounting issues
- Support external audits by preparing necessary documentation and ensuring audit readiness at all times
Requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Yardi and Trimble, strong Excel skills including financial report writing and analysis
- Strong understanding of technical accounting issues such as accrual accounting, double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, account reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Ability to interpret complex financial concepts clearly for diverse audiences; excellent analytical skills for financial report interpretation and cash flow analysis
- Proven mentoring ability with a focus on developing team members' technical skills in areas like auditing or securities law
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in bank reconciliations, accounts payable/receivable management, and general ledger oversight.
