Job Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Party Chief to join their team in Los Angeles, California. This role requires expertise in land surveying and construction staking, particularly for high-rise concrete and steel projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, critical thinking abilities, and the capability to lead a field survey crew while maintaining professionalism with both the public and clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-rise concrete and steel surveying with precision.
- Supervise a field survey crew in various types of surveys, including preliminary, construction, property, topographic, hydrographic, and monumentation surveys.
- Assist in training field personnel to perform accurate surveys.
- Capture and analyze data using Robotic Total Stations, GPS/RTK, and Digital Levels.
- Maintain detailed field notes, perform complex calculations, and plot profiles and cross-sections.
- Read, interpret, and reconcile plans, performing field calculations as needed.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in construction plans and surveys.
- Communicate information effectively and verify data with engineers, contractors, inspectors, property owners, and the public.
- Plan, assign, and review daily activities of assigned staff.
- Utilize tablets/phones for remote data deployment and transfer.
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a Survey Party Chief.
- Clear driving record and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks.
- Experience with Trimble Survey instruments is a plus.
