YOU
The Associate Truss Engineer provides engineering review of metal plate connected (MPC) wood truss designs for our Component Manufacturer (CM) customers and the design of wood truss repairs. The Truss Design Engineer will be an integral part of the Company's Integrated Component Systems offering.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING (% of Time)
Evaluating and designing wood truss repairs. (50%)
Providing engineering review, approval and sealing or support the sealing of MPC wood truss designs for our Component Review Services. This work will require oversight of Design Technicians, and collaboration with Engineering Services Coordinators, the Implementation and Customer Response Teams, and Branch Truss Specialists. (40%)
Participation in a wide variety of tasks as required to provide support for Component Review Services, including, but not limited to: recommending, implementing and maintaining engineering processes, development of engineering requirements, testing & development of truss design software, and technical support. (10%)
Desired Skills And Experience

- BS Degree in Civil, Structural or Architectural Engineering required
- Possession of E.I.T./FE required
- Licensed Civil or Structural Engineer preferred (CA PE/SE preferred)
- 2 years related experience and/or training in MPC wood truss design and engineering or equivalent
- Organization: Ability to diligently attend to details and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks
- Self-Management: Ability to display a high level of initiative, effort and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner with minimal supervision
- Software Skills: Able to quickly and effectively become proficient in unfamiliar software platforms and applications
- Analysis/Reasoning: Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify the information needed to solve a problem effectively
- Teamwork: Ability to build and sustain cooperative working relationships and contribute in a highly collaborative digital environment with remote teams and individuals
