D. Woolley and Associates, Inc. is seeking an LSIT Survey Technician to join our collaborative and growth-focused team in Tustin, CA. Our training programs include Traffic Control Classes, Confined Space Training, CPR/AED/First Aid, GIS, and NULCA Certified Subsurface Utility Locating and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) training. Job Responsibilities
- Conduct field surveys utilizing GPS, robotic total stations, and other survey equipment
- Perform topographic and boundary establishment surveys
- Process survey data in office using AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, StarNet or equivalent software
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy and completeness of survey data
- Prepare detailed survey reports, field notes, maps, and documentation in compliance with local and state requirements
- Assist in managing project timelines and coordinating fieldwork with other team members
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulations during field operations
- Use drones for aerial surveying and data collection (if FAA Part 107 certified)
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements, troubleshooting, and technical support as needed
Qualifications
- LSIT required, PLS preferred
- FAA Part 107 Drone Pilot License desirable (will be required within 6 months of employment)
- Willing to travel 4+ days/week until April 2025 and periodically thereafter
- Field and office experience desirable – applicant will be required to work in both settings
- Proficient in relevant technical software including AutoCAD, Trimble Business Center, and/or equivalent
- Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
- The successful applicant will be required to be licensed within 5 years of employment
- We understand applicants may be stronger in some respects and need training in the others. We will provide training for new hires that have the required minimum qualifications.
- Employees may be subject to random drug testing, as required by our clients
Work Location
- On site at our office in Tustin, CA
- Field work at locations in Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura Counties
- Willing to travel 4+ days/week to our project in Tahoe National Forest in Sierra County, CA (Northern California) until April 2025. This work is remote public lands surveying that is physically demanding.
