The incumbent prepares comprehensive cost and labor estimates for plumbing, heating, process piping, and/or sheet metal trades for project bid proposals. Out office is located in Irvine, CA and ideally experience estimating in The Los Angeles Territory is best.
However, if the right candidate comes along and they do not reside in Southern California, we are willing to entertain a "Remote Estimator", as long as you live within The PST Time Zone.

- Preparation of complete labor, material and equipment estimates for interior and exterior HVAC/Mechanical Jobs.
- Determines construction standards and creates job-specific standards for the estimating system.
- Attends pre-bid meetings and walkthroughs to gather information pertinent to site conditions.
- Prepare detailed scopes to assure each bid is complete.
- Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
- Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors.
- Solicits quotes from equipment suppliers, subcontractors, etc., and review their proposals for accuracy and compliance to specifications.
- Prepare bills of material (BOM) and other information for use by purchasing.
- Close coordination with project managers and management team to ensure accuracy.
- Confer with technicians, contractors and subcontractors when necessary to collect required information for competitive advantage.
- Pricing of conceptual bids based on minimal design for budgets.
- Experience in bidding design build projects from design narrative and construction standards.
- Contacts architect, engineer, and/or owner's representative to discuss possible alternates and value engineering that may be acceptable or beneficial to the customer.
- Implementing of value engineering into final submitted proposals.
- Projects a positive, professional image when interacting with customers and suppliers.
- Assists with maintenance of vender information
- Analyzing all issued documentation including specifications, basis of design, narratives, addendums, electrical, mechanical and architectural drawings.
- Preparation of bid proposal at closing stages of bid.
- Work with developers and contractors to get competitive feedback.
- Prepare post bid notes and analysis for management review.
