Job Description
OVERVIEW
PCE, a live events production company, is looking for a Director of Business Development to support our company in Huntington Beach, CA. This is an exciting opportunity to create action plans and sales strategies that will help us reach our growth initiatives — including new customer acquisition and client optimization. This role will report directly to Executive Management, performing wide-ranging tasks in a fast-paced environment. 40% of work will take place in the office and 60% of work will take place at various locations for client meetings. Business hours are Monday – Friday, 9 am-5:30 pm.
DUTIES
You will be expected to carry out the duties and responsibilities described below, as well as all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. These duties and responsibilities are periodically updated to reflect business needs.
Develop and maintain relationships with clients, conduct market research and analyze the company’s current products and services to determine necessary adjustments for increased customer engagement, but not limited to:
• Identify and research potential clients
• Develop and maintain client relationships
• Coordinate with sales teams to develop proposals
• Negotiate contract terms with clients and communicate with stakeholders
• Monitor project teams to ensure contracts are executed as agreed
• Gather useful information from customer and competitor data
• Make and give presentations to prospective clients and internal executives
• Track, identify and add qualified prospects to sales pipeline
• Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business
• Track and report on the status of proposal components
• Conduct ongoing market research
• Work with the sales department to create rate proposals
• Drive the end-to-end sales process
• Prepare and submit sales contracts
REQUIREMENTS
• A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in B2B sales, with a focus on driving business growth and client acquisition
• Impeccable verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity with project management methodologies
• Familiarity with industry including equipment, logistics and supply-chain management
• Problem-solving skills to propose mutually beneficial solutions
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Understanding of budgets, and experience preparing client paperwork
• Ability and willingness to travel for meetings with prospective and existing clients
• Effective persuasion skills: the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• The ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously within strict deadlines
• Working knowledge of the principles and practices of workplace safety
• Leadership and the ability to recognize the contribution of all team members
