The full salary range for the Painter is $40.64 - $45.74 per hour. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $43.09 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor in the Facilities Services Maintenance Department, the Painter is a skilled trades position supporting the painting needs of the University of California, Riverside campus. The painter is responsible for coordinating and communicating with campus customers to understand their needs and fulfill work order requests for painting services. Painting services may occur indoors, outdoors, in and on structures, street postings, signs, asphalt, and curbs. This position also coordinates with other skilled trades in preparing the campus' new builds for launch and occupancy. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds, man-lifts, and boom trucks at varying heights of up to 25 feet above grade; lift up to 75 pounds; perform repetitive lifting, bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling and reaching. Able to lift, load, carry, move and manipulate various building materials; work in areas where noise levels may exceed 90 dB. Ability to record information accurately as is necessary to perform the job responsibilities. Knowledge and ability to properly and safely work with colorants, paints, primers, solvents, patching compounds, sealers, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, and thinners. Ability to communicate and work effectively with co-workers, supervisors, general public, and provide exceptional customer service. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, effectively communicate, and understand safety regulations and hazards. Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic calculations. Ability and willingness to work weekends and holidays, occasional scheduled and unscheduled overtime, emergency call-back, and a flexible schedule as needed. Ability to withstand frequent exposure to extreme temperature conditions up to 125 degrees F (boiler rooms, steam pits, outdoor weather, etc.). Able to work in confined and dusty spaces and wear respirator or other required safety gear. Able to work outdoors in extreme and inclement weather conditions ranging from high heat with humidity, to freezing, rainy, and windy conditions. Able to work around and be exposed to unpleasant sights and smells, dangerous and/or hazardous substances. Ability to follow safety precautions and utilize appropriate safety devices, equipment and gear to safely perform duties with exposure to environmental requirements.
