YOU
You will be responsible for leading the Vietnam Digital Technology Offshore Delivery Center (ODC) as the Digital Technology Support Segment Director, with a focus on organizational capability building, talent development, and operational excellence. This role supports the global Digital Technology strategy through functional alignment, while enabling local leadership in HR, capacity planning, and innovation. Operate within a matrix organization, balancing global product and functional priorities with Vietnam-specific execution and people leadership.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Strategy and Global Alignment
- Translate global Digital Technology strategy into Vietnam execution plans, ensuring functional alignment across Software Development, QA, IT Operations, and Innovation.
- Collaborate with global product and functional leaders to define Vietnam’s role in service delivery, ensuring clarity in ownership, scope, and contribution.
- Participate in global governance forums to represent Vietnam’s capabilities and ensure compliance with architecture, security, and delivery standards.
Stakeholders Management
- Build strategic relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for strategic planning with stakeholders relevant to the development and operation of Vietnam Digital Technology Support including Global stakeholders and Vietnam stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholders' expectations especially changes in scope and/or priorities.
- Ensure effective communication and coordination between the Digital Technology Support Segment and stakeholders.
Leadership & People Management
- Coordinate with HR Director and HRBP to lead HR-related functions for Vietnam DTS including performance management, career development, succession planning, and employee engagement.
- Build and maintain a high-performing organization with clear competency frameworks and growth paths across engineering, QA, and operations.
- Foster a culture of learning, innovation, and collaboration through local communities of practice, training programs, and mentorship.
Capacity Planning & Resource Management
- Own capacity planning and workforce strategy to meet global demand while optimizing local talent utilization.
- Partner with global stakeholders to forecast resource needs and align hiring, onboarding, and development plans accordingly.
- Ensure transparent reporting and governance of resource allocation, utilization, and productivity metrics.
- Build partnerships with universities, vendors, and R&D hubs to enhance Vietnam’s technical capabilities.
Delivery Enablement & Operational Excellence
- Support global delivery by ensuring Vietnam teams operate with standardized processes, tools, and metrics across development, QA, and operations.
- Drive continuous improvement in delivery KPIs such as lead time, deployment frequency, defect rates, and incident resolution.
- Oversee local execution of CI/CD, release governance, and observability practices in collaboration with global teams.
- Support Vietnam-specific initiatives to improve internal operations, cost efficiency, and compliance through technology.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Software Product Development or related fields; demonstrating strong leadership abilities is required and solid experience in a Division/Department Head or Director role.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, methodologies and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent strategic planning and operational management abilities.
- Proven experience in managing offshore development centers or large software product development teams.
- Knowledge of software development industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Computer Science or Engineering). Advanced degree preferred.
