Job Title: Lead Technician / Head Audio Engineer

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Technician and Head Audio Engineer to maintain
- Make technical decisions aligned with client needs and budgets; inform the General
Manager of any anticipated budget overages.
- Maintain an understanding of all venue technical systems, including rigging, audio, and
fly rail systems.
Pre-Production, Administrative, and Maintenance
- Communicate with lighting or video heads for shows scheduled at the venue, completing
departmental advance work as per timelines.
- Prepare stage plots and relevant documentation for events, resolving any issues in
collaboration with other department heads.
- Manage equipment rental, from obtaining quotes to overseeing usage and return without
additional costs.
- Train replacement technicians on show specifics to ensure smooth operations.
- Develop and oversee a maintenance plan for venue audio equipment, suggesting new
equipment purchases as needed.
General Duties
- Work on all crew call days and attend venue meetings as required.
- Support office work and maintenance as needed.
- Perform crew work for non-venue labor calls as needed.
- Maintain regular phone availability and respond promptly to company emails.
Key Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in theater, concert, and corporate audio, with a strong
foundation in modern stage audio technology, digital sound reinforcement, and audio
processing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in brands and equipment, including Digico, Yamaha,
L’Acoustics, D&B, Midas, Allen&Heath, Lake Processors, Smaart, Shure wireless
systems, Clear-Com Helixnet and Freespeak, and industry standard microphones
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of audio signal path, stage audio
components, and ability to troubleshoot audio systems.
- Leadership: Strong team leadership and collaboration skills, with the ability to motivate
and coordinate effectively with colleagues and crew.
- Organization: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Adaptability: Ability to work with a diverse client base and adapt to various project
needs.

Key Responsibilities:
General Technical Leadership
- Make independent evaluations of policies, activities, and operations, implementing
changes as directed by the General Manager.
- Communicate regularly with the General Manager on department direction and company
operations.
- Identify and pursue strategic alliances under the General Manager's guidance.
- Ensure adherence to venue and company policies, maintaining a positive attitude towards
the company, vendors, and clients.
- Manage department progress, ensuring tasks are completed within the allotted time.
- Maintain professionalism in communication, appearance, and interactions with
employees, vendors, and clients.
Daily Operations and Supervision
- Arrive 30 minutes prior to scheduled call times to review daily plans and stay on-site
until all work and paperwork are completed.
- Supervise on-site technical operations, including stage supervision and other crew roles
as needed, such as load-in/strike assistance.
- Oversee technical staff, fostering a safe work environment and enforcing company
policies.
