Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Project Manager to support electrical construction projects across Southern California. This role works closely with the Project Manager and plays a key part in coordinating day-to-day project operations, financial tracking, and client/vendor communication.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Manager in planning, executing, and managing electrical construction projects
- Coordinate communication between clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Assist with reviewing plans/drawings and preparing estimates aligned with project budgets
- Help manage project budgets, contract documentation, and financial tracking
- Process and track purchase orders, material orders, vendor invoices, billings, and credits
- Assist with change orders, takeoffs, and project documentation
- Track and coordinate delivery of materials, equipment, and rentals for active projects
- Maintain accurate records including RFIs, submittals, transmittals, and project logs
- Create and manage action logs, tracking reports, and project documentation systems
- Support foremen and field teams by distributing labor reports and project updates
- Ensure project drawings and plans are current and properly maintained in systems like PlanGrid
- Participate in project meetings, including turnover meetings
- Step in to help manage daily operations when the Project Manager is unavailable
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, organized, and up to date
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in commercial electrical construction
- Experience supporting projects around $1M+ in value
- Fundamental understanding of electrical drawings, specifications, and construction processes
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience with project financial tracking and documentation
- Proficiency with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Trimble Accubid, Clearstory, and ERP systems (ComputerEase/Deltek preferred)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take initiative
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule as needed
