Mechanic
JOB DESCRIPTION
Hazard Construction Company is looking for an experienced Mechanic. The Mechanic is responsible inspecting and repairing vehicles, machinery and construction equipment. The ideal candidate must be a team player, highly organized, detail orientated, and has the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with other employees by phone & email in a clear and concise manner
- Use web browsers to research various items
- Enter, maintain and ensure accuracy of maintenance records in accordance with company guidelines.
- Scan fault codes, diagnose and perform needed repairs to various trucks and/or equipment
- Perform repairs to small equipment, generators, saws, pumps, etc.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs
Skills:
· Prior heavy equipment mechanic experience required
· Solid knowledge of hydraulic systems
· Light fabrication capabilities
· Welding Certification (preferred)
· Excellent verbal communication skills to accurately report diagnostic findings to Supervisors.
· Excellent interpersonal skills with employees, senior managers, and other external parties.
· The ability to organize, schedule, and coordinate multiple tasks.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential as is the ability to work extended hours when timeline requires
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR FORMAL TRAINING, YEARS OF EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND/OR SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in the mechanic field, including heavy construction equipment.
- Self-motivated and proactive solution seeker.
· An outgoing, positive attitude while working alone and with a team
All Hazard Construction positions require satisfactory completion of a physical ability test and clean drug and alcohol screening.
